What is Enhanced Access?

Primary Care Networks are commissioned to deliver Enhanced Access to patients, this is a service provided by practices over and above the core 8am-6pm contract from 1st October 2022. Therefore, this means patients will be able to access appointments in the evenings and on Saturdays as part of the Enhanced Access that PCN's are offering.

Greenwood PCN and Viaduct Care Network have joined forces to offer patients additional access to General Practice on evenings and Saturdays. You can see a GP, advanced nurse practitioner, clinical pharmacist, physiotherapist or other health professional. Some appointments may be provided at a nearby GP surgery or hub rather than your local practice.

So far Viaduct & Greenwood PCN have created 8,000 additional appointments within the first 3 months from out of hours and weekend appointments. We choose Locally sourced clinicians that are familiar with working locally and know local pathways well ensuring patients receive high quality care.

How you can access this service:
If you wish to use this services simply contact your practice as usual and they will advise you which local hub you can attend.
